Back Pack Buddies

The Back Pack Buddies Program provides food packs on Friday afternoons to students who are in extreme need situations and are likely to have inadequate food over the weekend.
School year 2016-17 is the 9th year for this program in Transylvania County Schools.  This year the program will be sponsored through the efforts of Manna Food Bank, Change the World Relief Organization, local churches, fire departments and many individuals.  Food packs are delivered by members of Rotary International.
This program, endorsed by our Superintendent, Jeff McDaris, serves some of our most needy students.
We need your help this year.
Please see the sponsorship form below.

2015-2016 Update:

On behalf of Transylvania County Schools and School Nutrition Services:
We extend tremendous Thanks to the sponsors who are helping to make the Back Pack Buddies program a success this year.  Without the support received last fall from local sponsors, 75 children would not have received food packs and 200 students per week would not have received supplements for their manna packs.
During the 2015-16 year, Back Pack Buddies served an average of 280 children per week.
