Transylvania County Schools Water Safety Message

Posted: January 16, 2020

Please be advised that the Town of Rosman is under a Water System Pressure Advisory due to intermittent water line leaks and pump outages. As a precaution, as of January 16, 2020, three schools in the Town of Rosman are exercising measures to keep students, staff, and visitors safe.

Water fountains have been blocked off. Salads prepared fresh on site have been pulled and discarded. Bottled
water is being brought into schools courtesy of Anchor Baptist, as well as ice handled by TCS Facilities & Nutrition staff to supply the needs of Rosman Elementary, Rosman Middle, and Rosman High Schools.

Anyone washing hands should only use bottled water or boiled water until further notice. Hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes are being made available.

When water is restored, any tap water from the Town of Rosman for human consumption should be boiled vigorously for one (1) minute—this includes drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and preparing food.

Thank you to all for your diligence in helping everyone stay safe & healthy throughout this advisory period.
